Hong Kong does not have a general VAT or GST system. That does not mean a Hong Kong company selling abroad never has indirect tax, customs or destination country obligations.
Review the sale itself Treatment can depend on what is sold, where the customer is, whether the customer is a business and where goods are stored or delivered. Incorporation alone does not settle these questions.
Overseas consumer sales For sales into the European Union, relevant VAT rules and schemes can apply to goods or services supplied by businesses outside the EU. Review the actual model, marketplace role and customer status. Do not assume the payment provider collects and remits every tax for the merchant.
Goods and imports Inventory location, import arrangements and responsibility for customs can change obligations. A Hong Kong company shipping directly between other countries still needs a destination market review.
Configure the checkout Explain whether prices include applicable taxes and charges and who bears import costs where relevant. Keep invoice and customer location evidence required for the chosen treatment.
For software subscriptions sold to European consumers, the absence of Hong Kong VAT is not the end of the analysis. Physical goods can raise different customs and import VAT issues. Build a market specific checklist before expanding sales so unexpected charges do not become a source of complaints and disputes.
