Know Your Business checks establish what the company is, who controls it and whether its activity fits the provider's services. KYB is broader than confirming that an incorporation certificate exists.
Build a consistent company picture The legal name, registration records, website, ownership chart and account purpose should fit together. Explain a trading brand that differs from the legal name. Include relevant documents when a name, director or ownership change is recent.
Explain the commercial activity Describe what is sold, how orders are fulfilled and who pays the company. Provide evidence appropriate to that model. A marketplace seller, software publisher and import business need different supporting records.
Forecasts should be plausible and identified as forecasts. A company that has not traded can say so and explain its launch plan. Invented invoices or copied contracts create a much more serious issue than a short trading history.
Trace ownership and authority Show intermediate entities and the individuals ultimately controlling the business. Identify who may sign and operate the account. Where a nominee or special control arrangement exists, disclose it as required and provide the requested supporting documents.
Before submission, ask someone to compare the full pack against the website. Can they explain the business without asking which description is correct? If not, resolve the differences before the reviewer has to do so.
A coherent KYB file supports assessment; it does not override the provider's activity restrictions or guarantee acceptance. Keep the file current for future reviews as the business develops.
