“Digital” describes the way a service is delivered, not necessarily its legal category. A bank can provide fully digital access, while a fintech may offer payment services without being a bank. Avoid comparing products using the interface alone.
Compare service channels A business that needs cash deposits, trade finance or complex documentary support may have different requirements from a software company receiving electronic transfers. Ask which services exist for the specific account, not which features the provider offers somewhere in its wider group.
Consider how support works when a payment is delayed. A convenient app is valuable, but the escalation process, evidence requirements and response channels matter when a transaction needs investigation.
Compare the full workflow Test whether statements, accounting exports, user permissions and approval controls meet the team's needs. Check transfer limits and whether a founder abroad can complete security verification reliably.
For example, a two person trading company may need one person to prepare a payment and another to approve it. A product with attractive exchange rates may still be unsuitable if its permissions do not support that control.
Look through the label Identify the contracting entity and protection of balances, then compare cost using expected transaction patterns. Review fees for receiving, sending, converting and holding funds as well as any subscription.
Choose between actual products rather than assuming a traditional provider is slow or a digital provider accepts everyone. Application requirements and ongoing reviews still depend on the business and its owners.
