Source of wealth concerns how an individual accumulated their overall assets or financial position. A provider may ask this to understand the background of an owner or a higher risk relationship. It is not the same as the immediate source of one company transfer.
Tell a chronological, evidenced story Identify the main sources, such as employment, business ownership, investment returns, inheritance or an asset sale. Explain the relevant periods and retain supporting records appropriate to each claim.
The explanation should be proportionate and internally consistent. A short statement claiming decades of business income may need records showing the actual business interest and distributions rather than an unrelated current bank balance.
Separate wealth from company funding A founder might have accumulated wealth through employment while funding the company from a recent investment disposal. The overall wealth explanation and immediate source of funds are connected but answer different questions.
Manage privacy thoughtfully Use the provider's verified secure channel and ask which documents are required. Do not send broad collections of personal financial information to an unverified contact claiming to accelerate approval.
If older evidence is difficult to obtain, say so and discuss acceptable alternatives. Do not create retrospective documents or exaggerate business history to fill the gap.
Keep an organised record of what was submitted and why. This makes a later refresh easier and helps ensure that the company's ownership and funding explanation remains consistent. Providing evidence enables a risk review; it does not compel the provider to accept the relationship.
